Regular Season Round 10: Gent Hawks - Soba 87-80

An interesting game took place in Gent, where higher ranked Soba (5-5) lost to eleventh ranked Gent Hawks (4-6) in a road game 80-87 on Saturday. Gent Hawks outrebounded Soba 29-18 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Rik Van-den-Berghe (206-93) fired 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Joren Vermoessen (201-93) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Point guard Anthony Goetgeluck (182-92) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Jonathan Balanga (191-94) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gent Hawks moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ninane. Soba lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Gent Hawks will face bottom-ranked Houthalen (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
