Regular Season Round 7: Lugo - Padova 88-82

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Lugo (3-4) defeated at home 4th placed Padova (4-3) 88-82 on Saturday. It was a great evening for power forward Giacomo Filippini (204-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Matteo Seravalli (184-91) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. Lugo's coach Gianluigi Galetti used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized Dominican guard Jean-Carlos Canelo (188-89, agency: Interperformances) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Marco Lazzaro (198-92) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lugo moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Padova dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Lugo will face Desio (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Padova will play against Faenza (#9) and hope to win that game.
