Esgueira / Oli (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed Beira Mar (0-3) 87-41. The game without a history. Esgueira / Oli led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Beira Mar to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Esgueira / Oli forced 19 Beira Mar turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Dee Franklin (196, college: Belhaven) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Ruben Cotton (174-94) contributed with 9 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Franklin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Joao Neves (193-91) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Tiago Tavares (185-98) added 8 points in the effort for Beira Mar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Esgueira / Oli will face Sanjoanense (#4) in Sao Joao in the next round. Beira Mar will play at home against Maia Basket and hopes to get finally their first victory.
