Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Agrigento and 6th ranked Cagliari Academy had identical 3-2 record. This time Agrigento used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Cagliari 99-87 on Sunday night. Agrigento looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St., agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Ruben Zugno (186-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent.Michigan) replied with 27 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Cagliari Academy. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento (4-2) moved-up to fourth place in A2. Newly promoted Cagliari Academy dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Agrigento will face Givova Scafati (#5) on the road in the next round. Cagliari Academy will play against Remer Treviglio and hope to win that game.
