The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Venezia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Venezia smashed 6th ranked Torino at home 87-52. Venezia made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Torino turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Venezia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Riquna Williams (170-90, college: Miami, FL) who scored 19 points. Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (190-86, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Venezia's coach Andrea Liberalotto felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sophie Brunner (185-95, college: Arizona St.) who recorded 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ilaria Milazzo (167-94) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Familia Schio and Lucca. Torino lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Torino will play next round against strong San Martino trying to get back on the winning streak. Venezia will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Ragusa on the road.
