Regular Season Round 5: Abdullah Gul - Hatay 71-82

An interesting game for Hatay (5-0) which played road game in Kayseri against 4th placed Abdullah Gul (3-2). Leader Hatay managed to get a 11-point victory 82-71. Hatay shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Australian-American point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah) who scored 23 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Kazakhstan-Belarusian forward Katerina Snytsina (188-85) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hatay players scored in double figures. Hatay's coach Katerina Hatzidaki allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Serbian forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89, agency: ProDep Management) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hatay. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce and Yakin Dogu BGD. Abdullah Gul at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. Hatay's next round opponent will be Galatasaray (#4) in Istanbul. Abdullah Gul will play on the road against Botas in Adana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
