Regular Season Round 7: Norrort - KFUM Lidingo 97-78

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Taby Basket (5-1) smashed at home 6th ranked KFUM Lidingo (3-3) 97-78 on Tuesday. Taby Basket forced 28 KFUM Lidingo turnovers. Strangely KFUM Lidingo outrebounded Taby Basket 55-34 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Taby Basket made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!). Center Marcus Friman (203-95) helped adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Serigne-Modou Thioune (-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and forward Alexandar Petrovic (197-93) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four KFUM Lidingo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Taby Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted KFUM Lidingo keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Taby Basket will face KFUM Uppsala (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KFUM Lidingo will play against Jamtland II (#6) in Ostersund and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
