Regular Season Round 9: Sitra - Al-Muharraq 54-108

The game in Sitra supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Al-Muharraq (6-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Sitra (3-5). Al-Muharraq smashed Sitra 108-54 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Sitra 50-32 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al-Muharraq shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Sitra's players. The best player for the winners was Ahmed Aldurazi who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Ali Nader chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Al-Muharraq players scored in double figures. Al-Muharraq's coach Ivan Jeremic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Khalil Brown (206, college: Pace) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Nasser Almosawi added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Al-Muharraq maintains fourth place with 6-1 record. Loser Sitra keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Al-Muharraq will face Hidd (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sitra will play against Al-Najma (#8) in Manama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
