Regular Season Round 12: Osorno - CD Valdivia 79-98

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osorno. Third ranked Deportivo Valdivia faced 4th ranked Osorno Basquetbol. Guests from Valdivia (9-4) smashed host Osorno Basquetbol (3-9) 98-79. Deportivo Valdivia made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Deportivo Valdivia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83, agency: Interperformances) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) with 27 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Deportivo Valdivia moved-up to second place, which they share with AB Ancud. Osorno Basquetbol lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Puerto Montt. Deportivo Valdivia will meet at home CD Castro (#4) in the next round. Osorno Basquetbol will play against the league's leader Las Animas and hope to secure a win.
