Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Nantes (2-3) lost at home to leader Chorale de Roanne (5-0) 87-82 on Friday. Chorale de Roanne dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Nantes' 22 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Chorale de Roanne forced 19 Nantes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Clement Cavallo (200-90) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Chorale de Roanne's coach Laurent Pluvy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists and the other American import Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Nantes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Chorale de Roanne. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lille. Loser Nantes dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face Caen (#4) on the road in the next round. Nantes will play against ADA Blois (#6) and hope to win that game.
