Regular Season Round 7: Leiden - Den Bosch 83-81

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Eredivisie took place in Leiden. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Den Bosch (4-2) to leader Leiden (6-0) 83-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Den Bosch. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 24-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Den Bosch outrebounded Leiden 45-26 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Carrington Love (186-94, college: Green Bay) fired 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St., agency: Court Side) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. British V.Islands forward Norville Carey (201-93, college: Rider, agency: Slash Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Stefan Wessels (203-84) added 12 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Leiden have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Den Bosch at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Leiden are looking forward to face Rotterdam (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Den Bosch will play against Amsterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
