Regular Season Round 13: CD Valdivia - CD Castro 72-65

An interesting game for Deportivo Valdivia (10-4) which hosted in Valdivia 4th placed CD Castro (4-10). Second ranked Deportivo Valdivia managed to get a 7-point victory 72-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CD Castro. Deportivo Valdivia shot 21 for 32 from the free-throw line, while CD Castro only scored four points from the stripe. It was a very good performance for American-Nigerian Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Trevante Drye (199-93, college: Tulane) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for CD Castro. CD Castro's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Deportivo Valdivia maintains second place with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Los Leones, which they share with AB Ancud. CD Castro at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will face Osorno Basquetbol (#5) at home in the next round. CD Castro will play against the league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia and hope to win that game.
