Regular Season Round 13: CDE Talca - CDU Catolica 70-72

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Espanol de Talca (8-6) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by sixth ranked Universidad Catolica (5-9) 72-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Espanol de Talca. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Aaron Nelson (203-91, college: S.Indiana) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Malik Morgan (193-94, college: Tulane) contributed with 7 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-86) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Espanol de Talca. Universidad Catolica moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tinguiririca S.F. Defending champion Espanol de Talca dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with CDU Concepcion. Universidad Catolica will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Espanol de Talca will play again on the road against Universidad Catolica in Santiago and is hoping to win this game.
