Regular Season Round 9: Borea - Bashkimi 49-106

The game in Peja supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Bashkimi (5-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Borea (2-7). Bashkimi smashed Borea 106-49. Bashkimi dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Borea's 20. Bashkimi forced 25 Borea turnovers and outrebounded them 53-31 including a 43-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Borea's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Jamir Hanner (203-91, college: Keiser) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international forward Samir Zekiqi (202-95) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists. Five Bashkimi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sami Hajzeri (193-92) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Shpend Gashi (184-88) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bashkimi moved-up to third place, which they share with Ylli. Newly promoted Borea keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Bashkimi's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Rahoveci at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Borea's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Peja to the arena Peja.
