Regular Season Round 10: Kongsberg - Nidaros Jets 101-66

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Nidaros Jets (5-7) were crushed on the road by fourth ranked Kongsberg (6-3) 101-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kongsberg. Nidaros Jets was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nidaros Jets 44-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Kongsberg looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nidaros Jets' players. American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) fired a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 24 rebounds and 15 assists for the winners. American guard Fred Thomas (196-93, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 27 points. Kongsberg's coach Bard Stoller felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Australian guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kongsberg moved-up to second place. Loser Nidaros Jets dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Kongsberg will face Baerum Basket (#5) in Bekkestua in the next round. Nidaros Jets will play at home against Ammerud Bskt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
