Regular Season Round 6: TLU/Kalev - Rapla 76-70

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rapla (3-3) against fifth ranked TLU/Kalev (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Rapla was defeated by TLU/Kalev in a tough game in Tallinn 70-76. The hosts were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 19-point deficit before their 34-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. TLU/Kalev made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Rapla outrebounded TLU/Kalev 41-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Rapla was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Djordje Dzeletovic (205-93) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Four TLU/Kalev players scored in double figures. TLU/Kalev's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Nolan Cressler (195-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: 3Eye) with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Latvian power forward Maris Ziedins (203-90) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. TLU/Kalev moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Rapla. TLU/Kalev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rapla will play on the road against TTU in Tallinn and hopes to get back on the winning track.
