Regular Season Round 7: Dolphin - Shumen 84-75

Bottom-ranked Shumen (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-75 loss to fourth ranked Dolphin (2-2) in Dolphin on Sunday evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for forward Manol Tonchev (197-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Nikolay Georgiev (178-1) helped adding 20 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists. At the losing side point guard Miroslav Denchev (180-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Anton Dikov (191-94) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Shumen's coach zvonko Papak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dolphin maintains fourth place in A with 2-2 record. Loser Shumen still closes the standings with four games lost. Dolphin will meet at home Chernomorets (#5) in the next round. Shumen will play against the league's leader UE Varna and hopes to get finally their first victory.
