Regular Season Round 8: Manresa - Huesca 73-54

No shocking result in a game when third ranked La ICL Manresa (7-1) smashed at home 9th ranked Magia Huesca (3-5) 73-54. The game was mostly controlled by La ICL Manresa. Magia Huesca was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Magia Huesca to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Magia Huesca 43-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Congolese center Jordan Sakho (209-97, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 12 rebounds. British forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary, agency: Court Side) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. Dutch forward Kevin van-Wijk (203-89, college: Valparaiso) replied with 9 points and 8 rebounds and forward Sergio Rodriguez (195-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Magia Huesca. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La ICL Manresa have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Prat. Magia Huesca at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. La ICL Manresa will play against league's leader Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Magia Huesca will play at home against Barca II (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
