Regular Season Round 11: Nova Ves - Handlova 94-102

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Nova Ves (2-9) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Handlova (4-7) 102-94 on Sunday. Handlova made 36-of-42 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcus Tyus (185-94, college: Omaha) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Swiss point guard Jeremy Landenbergue (189-93, college: Cuesta JC) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Bosnian center Djordje Ninkovic (210-93) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Swiss forward Michel-Ofik Nzege (203-92, college: E.Carolina) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Handlova maintains seventh place with 4-7 record. Nova Ves lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Handlova will meet league's second-placed Levice on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nova Ves will play against Zilina (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
