Regular Season Round 7: Fiat TO - Vanoli CR 88-80

Date: November 12, 2017
Rather predictable result in Torino where fourth ranked Fiat TO (6-1) beat 7th ranked Vanoli Cremona (3-4) 88-80 on Sunday. They outrebounded Vanoli Cremona 41-26 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Fiat TO looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) who added 13 points and 10 assists during the contest. Four Fiat TO players scored in double figures. Fiat TO's coach Luca Banchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette, agency: BeoBasket) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Fiat TO have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with EA7 Armani and Umana VE. Vanoli Cremona at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Fiat TO will meet The Flexx PT (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vanoli Cremona will play against Virtus Bologna (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
