LNBP top team - Soles (7-3) managed to deliver another win on Monday. This time they beat eighth ranked Abejas (3-5) in Guanajuato 92-80. Soles shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and forward Terrance King (198-90, college: E.Stroudsburg) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Soles maintains first position with 7-3 record, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Loser Abejas keep the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Panteras. Soles will meet at home Panteras (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Abejas will play against Mineros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
