Regular Season Round 5: Maccabi H/H - Hapoel K/S 75-86

Date: November 14, 2017
Hapoel Kfar Saba can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Hasharon (2-3) on the road game in Hod Hasharon 86-75 on Tuesday. Hapoel Kfar Saba made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Hapoel Kfar Saba outrebounded Hasharon 44-30 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hapoel Kfar Saba players scored in double figures. Guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and forward Jordan Washington (203, college: Iona) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Hasharon's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hapoel Kfar Saba (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. It was Hasharon's third loss in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Elitzur Yavne. Hapoel Kfar Saba will meet at home Hapoel Migd.H. (#10) in the next round. Hasharon will play against Hapoel Galilee in Kazrin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
