Regular Season Round 8: Xinjiang FT - Bayi R. 95-74

Bottom-ranked Bayi Rockets (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-74 loss to ninth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (5-3) in Urumqi on Wednesday evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige outrebounded Bayi Rockets 48-37 including 37 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and international Abudushalamu Abudurexiti (203-96) who added 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. International guard Lei Meng (193-95) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and international center Hao Fu (206-97) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Bayi Rockets still closes the standings with eight games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home league's leader Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bayi Rockets will play against Sharks (#10) in Shanghai and hope to get finally their first victory.
