The game with biggest result difference took place in Torun. Local Twarde Pierniki (7-2) beat 12th ranked Start (3-5) 98-84. It looked good early as Start took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Twarde Pierniki had a 27-14 second period charge getting the lead and Start was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 84-98. Twarde Pierniki made 28-of-32 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Start outrebounded Twarde Pierniki 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Start helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: 3Eye) who scored that evening 26 points and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and international swingman Karol Gruszecki (193-89, college: Texas Arlington) supported him with 18 points. Even 21 points and 7 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) by American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) did not help to save the game for Start. Marcin Dutkiewicz (198-86) added 16 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Start's coach let to play ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Twarde Pierniki have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-2 record behind leader Anwil. Start at the other side keeps the twelfth place with five games lost. Twarde Pierniki's next round opponent will be BM Slam Stal (#10) in Ostrow Wlkp. and are hoping to win another game. Start will play at home against Wilki Morskie and hope to win that game.
