Serie A2 top team - Empoli (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Forli (1-6) 66-44. Empoli forced 21 Forli turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Forli's players. The winners were led by Lithuanian forward Gabriele Narviciute (190-90) who scored that evening 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Francesca Rosellini (176-90) supported her with 11 points and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by forward Omotayo Olajide Beatrice (181-98) did not help to save the game for Forli. Forward Alice Pieraccini (184-98) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Empoli maintains first position in A2 with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Forli keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. Empoli will meet Civitanova (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Forli will play against Campobasso (#10) and hope to win that game.
