Regular Season Round 9: Piacenza - Olginate 108-96

Date: November 18, 2017
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Piacenza (8-1) beat at home 6th ranked Olginate (5-4) 108-96 on Saturday. Piacenza made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Olginate's players. Olginate was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international power forward Riccardo Perego (202-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian forward Duilio Birindelli (200-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Andrea Bassani (198-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds and forward Marco Planezio (198-91, agency: Players Group) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Olginate. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olginate's coach Alessandro Galli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Piacenza. They maintain second place in B with 8-1 record behind leader San Severo. Newly promoted Olginate keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Piacenza will face Reggio Emilia (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olginate will play against Lecco (#3) and hope to win that game.
