Regular Season Round 6: Nancy - Rouen 71-73

Important game to mention about took place in Nancy. Fifteenth ranked SPO Rouen (2-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Sluc Nancy (4-2) 73-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sluc Nancy. Sluc Nancy was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Desmond Williams (199-91, college: S.Connecticut) chipped in 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Mickael Var (205-90) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: Grand Canyon) scored 9 points and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SPO Rouen moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sluc Nancy keeps the fifth position with two games lost. SPO Rouen will face Poitiers (#13) at home in the next round. Sluc Nancy will play against ALM Evreux (#17) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
