Date: November 19, 2017
Everything went according to plan in Las Palmas where sixth ranked Gran Canaria (6-3) won against 11th ranked Movil Estudiantes (3-5) 99-95. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great shooting night for Gran Canaria especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. American DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American center Alec Brown (216-92, college: Green Bay) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Edgar Vicedo (203-94) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Movil Estudiantes. Five Gran Canaria and four Movil Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gran Canaria maintains sixth place with 6-3 record. Movil Estudiantes at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Joventut. Gran Canaria will play against league's leader Real Madrid on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Movil Estudiantes will play against UCAM Murcia (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
