Regular Season Round 14: Kyoto Hannar. - Chiba Jets 74-90

There was a minor upset when second-ranked Kyoto Hannar. (9-8) lost at home to second ranked Chiba Jets (12-5) 90-74 on Sunday. Chiba Jets outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 39-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) contributed with 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ito Tatsuya (173-94) added 17 points and 8 assists in the effort for Kyoto Hannar.Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets used an opportunity after Ryukyu GK lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Kyoto Hannar. keeps the second place with eight games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's second-placed Niigata Albirex on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
