Regular Season Round 6: Kymis - Panathinaikos 73-90

Undefeated leader Panathinaikos delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they beat bottom-ranked Kymis (0-6) 90-73. The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. Kymis was better in second period 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kymis 37-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Panathinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Kymis was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international center Ian Vougioukas (212-85, college: St.Louis) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Lenzelle Smith-Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) added 13 points and 6 assists in the effort for Kymis. Four Kymis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panathinaikos (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Kymis at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Panionios. Panathinaikos will play against Aiolos Trikallon (#11) in Trikala in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kymis will play on the road against Panionios in Athens and hopes to get finally their first victory.
