Regular Season Round 7: Maccabi Ashdod - Hapoel Holon 106-109

Important game to mention about took place in Ashdod. Third ranked Hapoel Holon (5-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (2-5) 109-106 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Hapoel Holon looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Glen Rice Jr. (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. The former international Guy Pnini (200-83, agency: Dray Basketball Agency) helped adding 23 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American power forward David Laury (206-90, college: Iona) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Cameron Long (192-88, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Four Hapoel Holon and five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hapoel Holon. They maintain third place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Maccabi Ashdod lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Hapoel Holon will face Ironi Nes-Ziona (#10) in Nes Ziyona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Ironi Nahariya and hope to win that game.
