Rather predictable result in Izhevsk where seventh ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (7-5) defeated 9th ranked Kupol-Rodniki (5-8) 85-72 on Sunday. Ural Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Dmitriy Nezvankin (186-93) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and point guard Anton Glazunov (182-86) who added 13 points and 8 assists during the contest. Five Ural Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Viktor Kashin (193-94) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Maksim Kiryanov (190-90) scored 19 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ural Ekaterinburg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Novosybirsk and Univ.Surgut. Loser Kupol-Rodniki keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Ural Ekaterinburg will face league's second-placed CSKA 2 in Moscow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kupol-Rodniki will play at home against TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#3) and hope to win that game.
