Regular Season Round 14: San-en - Osaka Evessa 68-67

A very interesting game took place in Hamamatsu. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Osaka Evessa (4-13) to fifth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (7-10) 68-67 in the fight for the third place. It was a great shooting night for San-en NeoPhoenix especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. Four San-en NeoPhoenix players scored in double figures. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and Takuya Hashimoto (186-94) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. San-en NeoPhoenix moved-up to third place, which they share with Toyama Grouses and Tochigi Brex. Osaka Evessa at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. San-en NeoPhoenix's next round opponent will be Tochigi Brex (#6) on the road. Osaka Evessa will play against Nishinomiya S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
