Regular Season Round 10: Yalova Bld - Samsun 104-107

A very interesting game took place in Yalova. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 18th ranked Yalova Bld (1-9) to fourteenth ranked Samsun (4-6) 107-104 on Wednesday evening. Samsun shot 60.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. Samsun players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 10 assists. The former international Ulug Kacaniku (202-85) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Muratcan Esen (195-90) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Yalova Bld. Four Samsun and five Yalova Bld players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Samsun moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Bakirkoy. Yalova Bld at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Samsun's next round opponent will be Orman Genclik (#15) in Ankara. Yalova Bld will play on the road against Duzce Belediye and hope to win that game.
