Regular Season Round 12: Sitra - Al-Hala 73-89

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Sitra (4-7) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Al-Hala (7-4) 89-73 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Ali Jaffar who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Jordanian Ahmed Jamal (-87) chipped in 25 points and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kenny Williams (201-86, college: Angelo St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Iraqi Ali Abdulla added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Al-Hala maintains fifth position with 7-4 record. Loser Sitra keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Al-Hala will face higher ranked Al-Muharraq (#4) in Al Muharraq in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sitra will play against Al-Riffa (#6) and hope to win that game.
