Regular Season Round 15: Correcaminos - Panteras 86-83

Eleventh-ranked Panteras (4-9) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Correcaminos (8-5) in Ciudad Victoria on Wednesday. Correcaminos managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Correcaminos made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) who scored 31 points and 4 steals. His fellow American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jaron Martin (178, college: Cal-Irvine) who recorded 30 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa-Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Correcaminos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Capitanes. Loser Panteras stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. They share it with Libertadores. Correcaminos will again meet at home bottom-ranked Panteras (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panteras will have a break next round.
