Regular Season Round 7: Orleans - Caen 102-76

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Orleans. Leader Entente Orleans 45 faced 4th placed Caen. Host Entente Orleans 45 (7-0) smashed guests from Caen (5-2) 102-76. It ended at the same time the 98-game winning streak of Caen. The game was mostly controlled by Entente Orleans 45. Caen was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Entente Orleans 45 shot 60.3 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Caen turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Caen's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Naturalized Congolese point guard Loic Akono (176-87) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. Five Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. American power forward Jarvis Williams (198-93, college: Murray St., agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 15 points and point guard Sebastien Cape (183-93) added 14 points in the effort for Caen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Entente Orleans 45 have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Caen at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Nancy. Entente Orleans 45 will play against Sluc Nancy (#5) on the road in the next round. Caen will play against Saint Chamond and hopes to get back on the winning track.
