Regular Season Round 17: Jonava - Suduva-Mantinga 93-80

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Suduva-Mantinga (12-5) against eighth ranked Jonava (8-9) on Friday night. Visiting Suduva-Mantinga was defeated by Jonava in Jonava 93-80. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Jonava especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Center Martynas Pacevicius (205-97, college: High School) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Nigerian-American guard Ebuka Anyaorah (193-90, college: N.C.Central) accounted for 20 points. Anyaorah is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Antanas Udras (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 25 points and 7 rebounds and forward Andrius Aleksandrovas (197-86) added 11 points respectively for Suduva-Mantinga in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jonava moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ereliai Mazeikiai and Taurages. Loser Suduva-Mantinga dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with Silute and Neptunas-Akv.. Jonava will meet higher ranked Zalgiris II (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Taurages (#7) and hope to secure a win.
