Regular Season Round 15: Neftekhimik T. - Uralmash 73-96

Superleague 2 top team - Uralmash (10-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Neftekhimik T. (1-12) in Tobolsk 96-73. Uralmash dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Neftekhimik T.'s 36. Uralmash forced 23 Neftekhimik T. turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Igor Novikov (192-90) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Guard Anton Voskresenskiy (190-87) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Petr Shapovalov (203-93) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Ilya Kulakov (197-93) added 13 points in the effort for Neftekhimik T.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Uralmash maintains first place in 2 with 10-3 record. Neftekhimik T. at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Uralmash will have a break next round. Neftekhimik T. will play again at home against the league's leader Uralmash (#1) and hope to win that game.
