Regular Season Round 19: Ehime OV - Tokyo Z 89-91

A very close game took place in Matsuyama between Tokyo Z and Orange Vikings. Sixth ranked Tokyo Z (7-12) got a very close victory on the road over 3rd placed Orange Vikings (13-6). Tokyo Z managed to escape with a 2-point win 91-89 on Friday evening. Tokyo Z looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Kashiwagura Kashiwagura (180-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. Guard Satoshi Kawai (182-82) helped adding 22 points and 5 steals. At the losing side American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Tokyo Z moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kagawa FA. Orange Vikings at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
