Regular Season Round 18: Silute - Palanga 73-70

Twelfth-ranked Palanga (6-12) gave a tough game to second ranked Silute (13-5) on Saturday. Silute managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Justas Nausedas (193-92) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jeff Perkins (198-93, college: Hawaii-Hilo) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Nerijus Barauskas (207-92) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Mantvydas Staniulis (189-97) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Silute maintains second position with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Vytis, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga. Palanga lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Silute is looking forward to face Perlas (#10) in Vilnius in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palanga will play on the road against Neptunas-Akv. in Klaipeda and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
