Rather predictable result in Telsiu where fifth ranked Telsiai (10-8) defeated 9th ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (8-10) 68-63 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Telsiai forced 26 Ereliai Mazeikiai turnovers. Strangely Ereliai Mazeikiai outrebounded Telsiai 40-24 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) who recorded 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Antanas Bertasius (205-94) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Telsiai maintains fifth position with 10-8 record. Loser Ereliai Mazeikiai dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Taurages. Telsiai will meet Jonava (#6) on the road in the next round. Ereliai Mazeikiai will play against Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole and hope to secure a win.
