There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Puente Alto (8-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Puerto Montt (6-12) 92-79. Puerto Montt players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Puente Alto's players. American forward Devon Scott (206-94, college: Philander Smith) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Canadian-DR Congolese forward Chadrack Lufile (206-90, college: Wichita St.) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks by American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) did not help to save the game for Puente Alto. Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Puente Alto's coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Puerto Montt moved-up to fourth place. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Puerto Montt's next round opponent will be Tinguiririca S.F. (#6) in San Fernando. Puente Alto will play on the road against Deportivo Valdivia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
