Regular Season Round 15: Zilina - Inter Bratislava 77-106

Leader Inter Bratislava delivered the thirteenth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Zilina (4-11) 106-77. Inter Bratislava dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Zilina's 42 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Inter Bratislava forced 24 Zilina turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Zilina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Aleksandar Vlahovic (190-90, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 30 points. The former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: BeoBasket) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Inter Bratislava's coach Oliver Vidin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Jakub Meress (200-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) added 22 points respectively. Inter Bratislava (13-1) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Zilina lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Handlova and Karlovka. Inter Bratislava are looking forward to face Kosice (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zilina will play against Iskra Svit (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
