Regular Season Round 12: Hertener Loewen - Bonn II 75-68

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Bonn II (1-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Hertener Loewen (9-4) 75-68 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen outrebounded Bonn II 47-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American-Spanish guard Marco Porcher-Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward KJ Sherrill (203-91, college: Augusta) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and point guard David Falkenstein (185-97) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hertener Loewen moved-up to fourth place in West, which they share with Duesseldorf. Bonn II lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Hagen-Haspe (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bonn II will play against the league's second-placed Grevenbroich and hope to win that game.
