Regular Season Round 10: Lietuvos rytas - Nevezis 98-70

The game between fourth ranked Lietuvos rytas (9-4) and 7th ranked Nevezis (3-10) in Vilnius on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Lietuvos rytas outscored guests from Kedainiai 98-70. Lietuvos rytas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 34. It was a very good performance for power forward Martynas Echodas (206-97) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American swingman Marc-Antonio Carter (192-85, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Russian forward Valery Likhodey (205-86, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Nevezis. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lietuvos rytas maintains fourth position with 9-4 record. Nevezis lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Lietuvos rytas will face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Nevezis will play on the road against P.Zvaigzdes (#5) in Pasvalys and hope to win that game.
