Regular Season Round 18: AB Ancud - CDU Concepcion 84-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ancud. Second ranked AB Ancud faced one of their biggest challengers Universidad de Concepcion. Host AB Ancud (12-6) defeated guests from Concepcion (9-10) 84-80. AB Ancud made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Argentinian point guard Jonatan Machuca (182-89) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian forward Donovan Johnson-Marshall (201-92, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and swingman Carlos Lauler (190-96) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AB Ancud maintains second position with 12-6 record having four points less than leader Los Leones. Loser Universidad de Concepcion keeps the third place with ten games lost. AB Ancud will meet at home league's leader Los Leones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Universidad de Concepcion will play against CD Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
