Regular Season Round 9: Legia - Stelmet 78-95

Bottom-ranked Legia is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to fifth ranked Stelmet (7-3) 95-78. It looked good early as Legia took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Stelmet had a 31-12 second period charge getting the lead and Legia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-95. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Armani Moore (193-94, college: Tennessee) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Stelmet's coach Artur Gronek used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Naadir Tharpe (180-91, college: Kansas) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Joseph Wall (199-89, college: Seattle Pacific, agency: Diamond Sports) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Stelmet and four Legia players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Stelmet. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Polski Cukier. Legia lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost. Stelmet's next round opponent will be Asseco (#8) in Gdynia which should be theoretically an easy game. Legia will play at home against Polpharma (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
