Regular Season Round 20: Akita NH - Cyberdyne IR 70-68

Third-ranked Cyberdyne IR (9-10) was very close to win a game against first ranked Akita Happinets (17-2). Akita Happinets managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Akita Happinets maintains first position with 17-2 record. Cyberdyne IR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sendai 89ers and Shinshu BW. Akita Happinets will play against Aomori Watts (#5) on the road in the next round. Cyberdyne IR will play against the league's second-placed Orange Vikings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
