Regular Season Round 8: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi Rishon 95-86

Date: December 3, 2017
The game in Tel-Aviv was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Maccabi Rishon (4-4) played at the court of seventh ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (4-4). Hapoel Tel-Aviv managed to secure a 9-point victory 95-86 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 60-48 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Tony Gaffney (206-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) who added 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. American guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and international power forward Idan Zalmanson (206-95) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Galil Gilboa and Maccabi Rishon. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will meet bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Rishon will play against Hapoel Eilat (#10) and hope to secure a win.
